Trip to Te Tauawa a Maka (Nottingham Stream) and Muir Park
On Tuesday we headed over to Te Tauawa a Maka (Nottingham Stream) and Muir Park to get inspiration for our mural that we will be painting. We studied and drew the plants that grow there, the bridge and the shape of the river.
When we came back to school we used our drawings to start planning what should be on the mural.

Art
We begun our art inquiry this week by exploring some of the artwork by Friedensreich Hundertwasser. The children shared what they noticed about the paintings and his use of colour, shape and organic lines.
We then explored creating their own dreamscapes.
Swimming and building whanaungatanga
Today was our last day of swimming and the children had a session with the instructors on water safety.
The children have loved their sessions at the pool and have also enjoyed the bus rides. We have been trying to sit with a different bus buddy every day to encourage whanaungatanga.
