Sasha, Rory and Finns Planting Day.

On Monday, we (Sasha, Finn and Rory) went to Muir Park to plant some plants so the rubbish wouldn't get into the water and so the mud wouldn't slip into the awa. Also the eels like the shade so we planted trees for them to have shade.

We felt two eels. They felt slimy and very yucky. One of them slithered away because it was on a slope.

We found two duck eggs. One of them was covered in grubs. We built a nest in a small bush for them.

- Bubbles

- Beebots

Salt Dough Maths

For maths this week we have continued to learn about fractions. This week we made salt dough, we had to measure the correct amount of each ingredient by following the recipe instructions.

Then we had to knead the dough, we cut shapes out of our salt dough and then cut them into halves and quarters. we had to remember that each half or quarter had to be the same size.

Cricket on a Thursday Afternoon

Today we were lucky to have Jacks' Mum and Dad, Rob and Gemma come and take some of us for a cricket session on Thursday afternoon. The children who took part had a blast and came back to the studio buzzing about the fun they had had!

We have been learning some new maths games that we can play with a buddy. These games are fun and help us with our learning. We had to show Manaakitanga and work together.

Guess My Number

Last week some of T13 asked if we could learn about fractions, so this week we did! We had a pizza shop where we could order whole or half pizzas, then we made pizzas and cut them into halves or quarters. It was a delicious week of maths!

Next week we are going to continue learning about fractions using salt dough!
